Better start blogging again

...before I stop entirely heh. It's been a solid month since the last entry, and quite a few things have happened between then and now.

Firstly, Bangkok!

Left for BKK the next morning after my last paper, spent a grand total of 4 full days there with the gf. We had a ball of a time shopping and shopping and shopping! Stuff there was really cheap (except the imported stuff), which made it that more satisfying to buy stuff :) We walked essentially the entire morning to evening, went back to the hotel to rest our aching feet, and went out in the evening again to the night market (on two of the four nights anyway). We eventually amassed quite a mountain of stuff between us, and actually managed to lug everything back. Our luggage was severely UNDER the weight limit, which was a real waste, cos I would've liked to bring back more food!! Oh well, next time!

Toys-wise, they're generally more expensive than anything we get here, which I guess is expected. Despite all the news I hear about Thais being huge Toku fans, I only found three or four shops selling toku and stuff on the third day, and more expensive than what I could get back home. Did manage to pick up SH Zanki for cheap tho, which was great since I was looking for it for awhile.

Second, We Will Rock You!

Well, it rocked! We got seats three rows from the front, off to the side, which gave us wondrous views of gyrating, taut bodies singing the best from Queen. The downside was that we almost went deaf, cos the speakers were more or less in front of us : But it was entirely worth it when it got to the last 20 minutes of the show, cos it became a real rock concert! Excellent experience and musical that I recommend to anyone who's familiar with Queen's music, and even if you're not, you will be shaking to the tunes anyway!

Thirdly, the TRU sale :)

Decided to go early to the TRU sale on the member's preview. Ended up as the tenth or so person, not too bad. Saw some huge boxes of Zoids, so I was crossing my fingers to get those, butttt the first guy swooped those up :\ No worries! I immediately went for the KR stuff, grabbing the lone Kaixa belt, Denliner Ikajichi (Gun form) and SIC Doras and ZO, before making another round to and realising there was a Faiz belt as well! And as I picked THAT up, a whole pile of treasure was below that: Kaixa Blaygun and DX DenLiner (!!!). Eventually picked up a Kaixa Pointer and Shot, as well as the last Faiz Shot. All the above for only $85! The prices were seriously amazing, especially for the Denliners, really surprised to find them there :)

Almost near the end~

Yup, finally got done with the project I was really anxious about, don't think it went too well, but I'm just glad it's over. The week's been pretty crazy with all the preparation, late nights and early mornings.

Anyway, the Falcon's brought in the limited Chevy Aveo Swerve figure! And bundled it with some sweet packages to boot! Got myself the Screenbattles (Final Stand & Capture of BB) sets with Swerve for $100, a really good deal! It means that I now have SIX versions of the Camaro 08' mold, count them:

Hasbro (Opened)
TakTomy (Carded)
TakTomy (Loose)
Battle Damaged (Loose)
Cliffjumper
Screen Battles

And there's TWO MORE coming out!!! Argghhhhh. Whoever said the Camaro mold was hard to get obviously wasn't looking hard enough :

Also picked up Microman RyuJinO ($14.90) finally completing the three of them, and picked up Myth Cloth Thanatos ($80) today as well. Thanatos' box is HUGE. Seriously! Spotted some slightly paint problems here and there but I guess no set's perfect. Wonder if I'll ever open him :[

A quick post, cos I should be studying : |

Just a quick update, got the pair of Appendix (Leo and Aries Mu, $50 for the pair) on thursday, got myself a new Bagman bag ($60) as well during the IT show, since I'm kinda wearing my old out quite a bit.

Went down to CSC to have a look see as well today, picked up the set of KR HD-S Series 2 ($30) which I was looking for and finally decided to buy today. SH Figure Arts V3 and Ichigo aren't in yet :\

Ok, back to work!

I should stop buying things

Like the title says :

Well, I went down to Taka on Tuesday to exchange one of the Mugenbine whose arm was broken, and ended up buying a spare Myth Cloth Sagittarius ($56) which I've been intending to get for the longest time. The last time I managed to get one from Roy, the set had been opened before and the buckle was missing : So after returning it I never got another one til now.

Then today, I met up with a fellow SGC member who was kind enough to lend me his SimplyToys card to get the extra discount on the Sonic Phantom ($32.30 after discount)! I also found the Mugenbine MugenPharoah Candy Toy ($27 for the set) which I've been waiting for. So needless to say I've been spending QUITE a bit lately. Blogging about it helps me keep track too sooo :

May have to re-evaluate my buying a DS Lite heh.

Anyway, gf's flown off to Aus, and I miss her already : \ It's always funny not to be able to call her after work/school. Well she'll be back next Sunday, so til then I've got a lot of LEGO to build!

It's raining toys. Ouch.

More on the title later :

Headed down to Uncle Ng's today after the meeting, and DAMMIT I SHOULD'VE PICKED UP SEAHORSE THAT DAY. He was nice enough to spare me one , but that meant that I had to settle for that one piece, which thankfully was in pretty good condition. Still. I had 12 pieces to choose from that day : \ So with Seahorse Baian ($55) in hand, I'm all caught up with SS Myth Cloth!

I opened up Seahorse Baian cos it was double sealed, so wanted to check if everything was ok. Pretty good piece, it actually looks more interesting in person than in pictures. After putting him back in the box, I decided to open up Merak Hagen, which I was intending to do last night but too tired to.

Now about the entry title.

I wanted to display Hagen, so I thought I would take the Myth Cloth stand that currently holds SIC Faiz Blaster and SIC Ibuki. It's a perilous task to do that cos that shelf is PACKED. To the BRIM. And I certainly paid a price for that. On moving SIC Todoroki, EVERYTHING in front just FELL. So down came SH Den-O sword, rod and axe forms, Sasword and SIC Zanki. Onto my messy side table below. Sword Form's shoulder plates came out in the process, intiating a panicked search amongst the mess, but thankfully I found them. On hindsight, if not for the mess, they would have hit the floor which was MUCH further below. Anyway, no real casualties, although I think Rod form had a bit of the mask scratched, although I can't really tell.

The irony?

I had the spare Myth Cloth stands which I got from KL. So I used them in the end. *sigh*

While rearranging the figures on the shelf, I had a bloody shock: SH Zabee's left forearm just CAME OFF. Yes, the joint just snapped right off! WTF!! I'm just waiting for Sheng Tai to bring in Kabuto now, so I can get a cheap replacement for Zabee >:

Anyway, it's the eve of CNY tmrw, so Happy Lunar New Year to all! Here's to a wonderful year of the Rat!

Myth Cloth Catch Up: Part Deux

Yup, catching up pretty fast with Myth Cloth, a healthy boost of funds certainly helps : P

Had the initial intention of heading to Uncle Ng's to pick up Seahorse Baian today, but since I was in the area, decided to drop by Falcon's to check the figure out there instead.

Annndd on reaching there I realised that they had both Odin Saints which I missed out on. Beta Merak Hagen I knew the had, since it only came in end of last year. Zeta Mizar Syd, I knew they had one piece, but it wasn't a good piece. But I tried, and lo and behold, they had spares of Zeta! So I decided to pick up both of them ($60 each), leaving only Seahorse Baian to get myself up to speed!

And that I'm intending to do tomorrow >: )

Myth Cloth Catch Up

FINALLY picked up Crystal Saint and Chrysoar Krishna ($50 each) from Uncle Ng's, Seahorse Baian was in too, contemplated, decided not to get it, but now thinking I should've gotten it :

Kinda caught up to Myth Cloth now, except the two Odin saints I'm lacking. I may have to resort to the V shop to get Zeta, meh, not an idea I like :

Also collected HDX Kamen Rider the First/Next figures ($80) and HDS Den-O Part 2 ($22) from Mike, after pre-ordering them two weeks back. I really wish I had proper space to display these figures, cos they really are very nice! Alas, no space, so in the boxes they remain :\

I'm currently contemplating picking up the Den-O Chibi I-Dolls! Really cute buggers, and especially after finishing Den-O, I really like the characters from the series : ) Unfortunately, each set costs $60, which is kinda painful, so I'll think about it a bit more before deciding.

Major shopping

Went back to Taka on Sunday while the additional 10% discount was still on, decided to pick up Cross Bisar ($29.95 less 10%) and Gyro Bisar ($14.95 less 10%). Cross Bisar is really not bad, but the arms drop off WAY too easily in Bisar mode. Gyro Bisar is not too bad, but the Bisar mode is rather stiff cos the leg armour isn't very poseable.

Headed down to CSC after that, for the first time in months! Was intending to pick up SH Den-O Plat Form and Momotaros ($40), which I did, and I saw a great deal for the SS Myth Cloth Black Display Stands ($15), so I got one! While looking around CSC I also checked out the prices for the Myth cloth I don't have, will slowly pick them up. Amazingly, Zeta Mizar is disappearing :

Quite a bit of damage that one day, eeps, but it's been a while since I got stuff from CSC. So well : )

In other news, saw pics of the upcoming Go-Onger Minipla kits, looking good! The design motiff (the eyes, the eyes!!!) really boggle me, takes getting used to seriously. But hey, combining vehicles always rock : )
